Trainee guide dog puppy visits Askham Bar vaccination clinic
We’re used to having young visitors to our vaccination clinics, but Ronnie, the trainee guide dog puppy, was particularly popular when she visited our Askham Bar Community Care Centre with her owner Erika Spratt.
Erika wanted to familiarise Ronnie with a visit to the vaccination clinic as part of her year’s training. She has been looking after the puppy in York for nearly a year, getting her used to various every-day activities and different environments.
“We’ve had her since she was seven months old and have been getting her used to everything from going on public transport to attending healthcare appointments. So, a visit to the vaccination clinic seemed like a good idea and she did very well,” said Erika.
Ronnie will soon move on to her formal training in Leeds, once she is ready. She was certainly made welcome to our Askham Bar centre by all the dog-loving staff who were delighted to make a fuss of her.
