Mike is Executive Chair of Nimbuscare, was one of the organisation's founding members in 2015 and is a General Practitioner Partner at Haxby Group, where he has been a partner for more than 25 years. Haxby Group provides care for around 100,000 patients across York, Hull and Scarborough. Alongside his clinical and leadership roles, Mike is Chair of the Trustee Board at the Royal College of General Practitioners, having previously served as Vice Chair of College Council (2018-21). He is also an Honorary Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York and a Trustee at St Leonard's Hospice in York.

Dr Lorraine Boyd, Non-Executive Director
Dr Lorraine Boyd is a Non Executive Director and chairs the Quality and Performance Assurance Committee. She is a retired GP partner who served the Easingwold community for more than 30 years. She later spent nine years as a Non-Executive Director at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, including roles as Chair of Quality Committee and Maternity Safety Champion. Throughout her career, Lorraine has championed high-quality, safe, patient-centred care and is a strong advocate for collaboration, partnership working, and continuous improvement across healthcare services. Her experience spans both frontline clinical practice and healthcare leadership, bringing a deep commitment to improving outcomes for patients and communities.
Dr Martin Block, York Members Non-Executive Director
Martin is a GP Partner, Clinical Director and Head of Research at York Medical Group, where he has practised since 2018. Prior to this, he was a GP Partner in South London for 14 years, serving as a Founding Director of the Lambeth GP Federation. He brings extensive experience in primary care leadership, service development, education and research, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for patients and communities through collaboration, innovation and evidence-based practice.
Martyn Smith, Non-Executive Director
Martyn is a Non-Executive Director at Nimbuscare, with a particular focus on digital and data. He has more than 30 years’ experience in consulting and senior leadership, including over 20 years working across healthcare and the NHS. Before joining the Nimbuscare Board, Martyn was a Partner at Baringa, where he advised NHS England, Integrated Care Boards and NHS trusts on strategy, digital transformation and major change programmes.
Martyn has led the development of several NHS national digital services. More recently, his work has focused on integrated care records, population health management, digital diagnostics and using data to support prevention, reduce health inequalities and improve patient outcomes.
Simon Morritt, Co-Chief Executive Officer
Simon joined Nimbuscare as Co-Chief Executive and has worked in the NHS for over 35 years. Before joining Nimbuscare, he was Chief Executive of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals National Health Service Foundation Trust from 2019 until 2025. Earlier in his career, Simon held Chief Executive roles at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (2016-2019), Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust (2011-2016), NHS Bradford and Airedale (2006-2011), and Doncaster Central Primary Care Trust (2000-2006). He began his career as a General Management Trainee in Greater Manchester and holds a Master of Business Administration and a Diploma in Professional Coach-Mentoring.
Zulf Ali, Co-Chief Executive Officer
Zulf is Co-Chief Executive Officer at Nimbuscare and Chief Executive of York Medical Group. With more than 30 years' leadership experience spanning global corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, the voluntary and community sector, general practice and primary care, he brings a broad perspective to leading organisational and system change. Zulf has a longstanding passion for leadership, organisational culture and developing people. He believes that lasting change is achieved through strong relationships, a shared sense of purpose and creating the conditions in which individuals and teams can thrive. In recognition of his contribution to enterprise and leadership, Zulf was awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion.
Dr Emma Olandj, Executive Director of Community Services
Emma is Executive Director of Community Services at Nimbuscare and a GP with a longstanding interest in frailty, neighbourhood health and integrated care. Before joining Nimbuscare, Emma was a GP Partner at Priory Medical Group and Clinical Director of their Primary Care Network (PCN) in York. She has led the development of York's Community Frailty Hub, which featured in the NHS Ten Year Plan and shortlisted for the 2026 HSJ Transforming the Care of Older People award, and has played a key role in redesigning frailty services across North Yorkshire. Emma is also a CQC Registered Manager for Nimbuscare and contributes to education programmes focused on frailty and integrated care.
Dr Tori Blake, Executive Director of Urgent Care and Corporate Services
Tori is a GP, Executive Director of Urgent Care and Corporate Services at Nimbuscare and an Examiner with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh for the Diploma in Urgent Medical Care. She is passionate about designing services that improve access and enable more people to receive care closer to home. Before joining Nimbuscare, Tori was Clinical Director at Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, responsible for the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and inpatient services. She has played a leading role in developing innovative urgent care models in York and North Yorkshire and her work was recently published in the British Journal of General Practice.
Dr Daniel Kimberling, Medical Director & Executive Director of Clinical Service Delivery
Daniel is Medical Director and Executive Director of Clinical Services at Nimbuscare and a GP Partner at Haxby Group, where he has worked for almost 20 years. A lifelong resident of York, he is passionate about improving health and care for local communities through stronger neighbourhood working and integrated services. Daniel is also Clinical Director for West, Outer and North East Primary Care Network (PCN) in York and a CQC Registered Manager for Nimbuscare.

Jennifer previously worked as a Nurse Consultant at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton where she held the role of Patient Safety Ambassador for South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. She has worked as a clinical practitioner for over 16 years in both community and hospital-based roles. She is passionate about patient safety, particularly the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and learning from safety events. |
